These particular origami earrings are a little different then a typical origami project. First you get to decorate your own paper and then work with paper in the shape of circles. But there is folding involved so I am still calling them origami earrings.
What you will need:
Card stock paper or you can use book pages
Watercolors and/or acrylic paint
Glue stick
1″ hole puncher
Beading wire
Ear hooks
Random beads
Bead stoppers
Ear nose pliers
Wire cutter
Technique:
Decorate the card stock paper with marks, dots, lines using watercolors and acrylic paint. If you don’t have card stock paper you can use book pages and you don’t have to further decorate the pages.
Using 1″ hole puncher punch holes. You will need 10 circles per pair of earrings i.e. 5 for each earring.
Fold the circles in half.
Using glue stick glue the sides of the circles together. You will need 5 circles.
When gluing the last circle you will join it to the first one. It will look like a bauble.
Repeat to make a second bauble.
Next you will need your materials for beading to finish off your earrings.
Cut off 4″ long wire. Add a bead and a bead stopper.
Loop the other end of the wire through the bead stopper and tighten the loop.
Crimp the bead stopper with pliers.
Insert the wire through the center of your origami bauble.
Then insert a bead, bead stopper and ear wire.
And loop the wire through the bead stopper and the bead.
Crimp the bead stopper with pliers and cut any excess wire.
Repeat it for the second earring and you are DONE!
HAVE FUN CREATING!!!
