I have an entire board on Pinterest devoted to toilet paper tube projects. Mostly kids stuff: animals, characters, print making, bird feeder….I was craving something cooler than that. I could feel that there is a way to make wearable art out of this often discarded item and last night I decided to give it a shot.
I painted the tube first with some acrylic paints.

I added a few marks, dots, lines…tips I learned from a class I took on line from Alisa Burke. Then I cut it up into strips, some thiner some wider, some a bit oval, other a bit trapezoid.
Then I stitched the sides on my sewing machine. Added Triple Thick for added shine. This actually makes them look leather-like. My mom thought it was leather. Tricked ya!!
And then I got some wire, some beads, earring hooks. Stylish, no?
I love the way they look and how you can’t tell they’re made of toilet paper tubes! Did the stitching of the sides go easily?
Stitching was fairly easy. 😁
