Resin and watercolor pendants

Last month I was playing with watercolors and ended up with several pages of watercolor wash.  I used some to make cards and the rest I decided to use to make resin pendants.

Here is what I used:

Watercolor paper

Ken Oliver colorburst watercolors

Ice Resin

I used to be afraid of resin.  Once at a crafting event a lady told me a story about the fire department being dispatched to her house after she had resin accident.  I don’t remember the details, but it made me scared.  Thankfully there are several safe resin products that you can pick up at any craft store.  Ice Resin is pretty good to use.

Technique:

I cut 1″ circles to fit my pendants.  Using a fine black sharpie I doodled little dots, lines, circles etc.  Once done set the circles inside the pendant.  I actually used a bit of double sided tape to keep the circles flat down inside the bezels.Resin and watercolor jewelry

Mix the resin according to the packaging.  Make sure you let it sit for a couple of minutes to let all the bubbles air out.  Then pour into your bezels.

Let sit for 24hrs.  That’s it!  Really that easy!

Enjoy!
