El Nopal

Let’s talk about the weather!  Around this time in Arizona it’s hot, every day.  And it’s going to be hot for a few more months.  I endure it.  Somewhow for me it is more appealing than a long and cold winter.

Summer in the desert is a good time to get some crafting done.  You can stay inside in the cool air conditioned room, get your craft supplies out and get in the flow.

Today’s project: stamp carving.  Inspired by the desert I carved a cactus stamp (el nopal in Spanish)

Stamp carver in hand and a speedy cut block these are the results.

I used green ink to stamp, cut out the cactus shape and then used it to make greeting cards.
