I admire artist who are dedicated to their art journal. I always aspire to be that, but it never seems to work for me. Although I have learned ways to get past the blank page by prepping pages in advance, I never seem to have some unifying theme or style to fill an entire 30-40 page journal. For me a good way not to beat myself up for this current ‘deficiency’ I though a one page journal may be the thing for me. To be honest it’s really an 8 page, including the cover, or double that if you get ambitious to complete the opposite side.
One page journals are easy to make. You can pretty much make them out of any piece of paper. Here I used cardstock to have some more weight and durability.
Here is how:
Fold you paper in half lengthwise.
Then in half again, widthwise.
Then fold one side to the center, and the other side to the center.
Cut the center lengthwise. Notice the little arrows I drew, do not cut past them.
Fold it lengthwise and push to form the pages.
I used stamps and watercolors to decorate mine. I also included quotes from books that I have enjoyed.
So if you are like me, feeling pressured to fill an entire 20-30+ page journal, this may be for you.
Enjoy!
